Daniel Brennan
Winemaker Decibel Wines and owner/founder of Decibel Wines

Daniel's history in wine starts in his family with a Sicilian grandfather who was a winemaker and cooper. His family's involvement in the restaurant business in Philadelphia and their overall zeal for the 'Old World' inspired Daniel to live, work and travel throughout Europe extensively. Somewhere in his travels he followed his first passion, music, where he toured North America for 6 years while working with independent artists. Eventually Daniel ended up in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand where he studied Wine Science and Viticulture and took on the challenge of bringing the great wines of New Zealand to the rest of the world. In 2009 Daniel started his own label, Decibel, as a shout back to those days touring with independent artists. Today, when Daniel isn't in Hawkes Bay making wine, he's touring around the globe making noise, raising the dB level.

Jenny Dobson

Jenny's story begins on the South Island of New Zealand but her quest for greater wine knowledge brought her to Burgundy, Paris and eventually Bordeaux.  After only 8 months at Château Sénéjac, Haut Médoc Jenny had been singled out for making wines with both finesse and complexity.  In 1994 Jenny left Bordeaux and spent a year in Western Australia at Frankland Estate.  The following year she recognized Hawkes Bay as a premium wine region with the potential to produce world class wines, particularly in the red and white Bordeaux style.  Jenny established TeAwa Farm Winery where she recieved international acclaim and awards for her wines.  Jenny is now the winemaker and consultant for Unison Vineyard as well as consultant for William Murdoch Wines and red winemaker at Sacred Hill Winery.  Passion for greater wine knowledge still drives Jenny as she is involved in some of the world's most innovative wine research working with Laffort, France and a numerous research projects.

Chris is part of the young revolution of wine growers in New Zealand that the rest of the wine world is sure to discover in the coming years.  His passion is rooted deep in the Pinot Noir on his family's small block of low, densely planted vines in Martinborough.  Martinborough is just a a few hours south of Hawkes Bay where Chris is about to finish his double degree in Wine Science and Viticulture.  The past couple of years Chris has worked as an apprentice for one of the top Pinot Noir producers in the world at Ata Rangi-Martinborough under the tutiledge of the legendary Clive Paton.  In 2010 and 2011 Chris produced a single vineyard Pinot Noir from the Reid Estate which will be released under the Decibel label in the USA.
